July 1, 2008 Flinders Mines Limited announced that following additional microscope analysis that diamonds are not present in its South Australia prospect and what were reported to be ten diamonds as announced on 26 June 2008, were in fact florencite crystals- a hydrated rare earth aluminium phosphate.
July 1, 2008 Reported what it thought was a new diamond discovery from the Nackara Helimag survey in the area about 40 km northeast of Peterborough. It was stated at the time that “Much work, including verification of the results, is necessary before the true significance of the discovery is known”. Additional analytical work has now been completed with the result that the original diamonds have not been confirmed.
June 26, 2008 Initial soil sampling has recovered 10 diamonds over four adjacent magnetic targets within the
western part of the Nackara-2 helimag survey area.
