Island Arc Exploration announced that it has successfully completed the current phase of auger drilling, geological mapping, and outcrop grab sampling at its 100% owned Nassile Gold project located in the Republic of Niger, West Africa. Five prospects hosting significant gold mineralization along 20 kilometres of a large regional structure were identified: Songonduari, Forbemi, Bamperi South, Bamperi North and Koutougou / Tirboye.
An approximately 5,000 meter auger drilling program across the Tampena anomaly was planned. Initial auger drilling will focus on the Songonduari prospect where an influx of local orpailleurs (gold miners) has converged in recent weeks. Approximately 10,000 local people have been sighted at Songonduari, with coarse gold being recovered from hard lateritic cover at surface, as well as from smoky-grey, quartz veining at depths of up to 15 meters.

Announced that in recent weeks, a number of local orpailleurs (gold prospectors) have been present at the southwest border area of its Nassile gold and base metal permit. Island Arc does not have sufficient information in order to make an assessment as to the significance of this event.
