Bitterroot announced that it has entered into an option/joint venture agreement with Kennecott Exploration covering nickel, copper, and PGE targets on the Nickel Targets property in Michigan. The primary exploration target on the property is a linear magnetic high, interpreted to be a dike which was a conduit or feeder zone for magmas within the Mid-Continent Rift system. Kennecott has indicated it intends to conduct diamond drilling.

Drilling was completed. Platinum mineralization was intersected within the main body of the Echo Lake intrusion in hole 97-03 (5.4 m grading 1.01 g/t Pt+Pd+Au or 21.3 m grading 0.52 g/t Pt+Pd+Au). Additional drilling was required to fully test the intrusion for nickel/copper and platinum/palladium mineralization.
