March 16, 2012 In 4Q11, Rio Tinto approved funding to begin pre-feasibility work on the project, which would be developed over a nine-year timeframe using a staged development approach. La Granja’s initial leaching operation envisions production of up to 100 thousand tonnes of copper per year, with the potential to expand to 250 thousand tonnes.
