December 21, 2009 Firestone Diamonds announce that it has entered into a joint venture agreement with Tawana Resources over Tawana's kimberlite exploration and evaluation projects in Botswana, which includes 8 kimberlites in the Orapa kimberlite field. Under this agreement Firestone could earn up to an 85% interest in any kimberlites in the prospecting licences controlled by Tawana.
September 30, 2008 2 out of 3 shafts on the BK2 kimberlite has been completed. Fresh kimberlite sample is currently being extracted at the 30m level from shaft 1 and to date approximately 42 tonnes of kimberlite have been excavated. The aim is to extract 100 tonnes from the base of each of the 3 shafts. Processing of this kimberlite is expected to commence in Q1 2009.
