Picacho was Glamis's first gold mine, operating for over 20 years and bringing millions of dollars of capital investment to the state of California. All gold reserves were exhausted.

Reclamation programs were nearly completed. All five facilities were rinsed to stringent California requirements, and the last heap was to be contoured and revegetated in 2001.
