Latest Information March 31, 1999 The mine had produced in excess of 160,000 ounces of gold at an average grade of 8.6 g/t, although recent production had been limited to reprocessing of tailings. In 1997, a heap leach operation, designed to process 200,000 tonnes of tailings on site, was operated on a test basis. The operation started in March and continued through Sept. at which time operations were halted due to local management problems, poor recoveries, compaction of the heap, solution channelling, heavy rains, falling gold price and lack of development capital. |
