Silver Standard Resources reported that the ramp-up at its Pirquitas Mine in Argentina is proceeding. At the Pirquitas Mine, 18.0 million tonnes of material have been moved since the mine commenced operations in July 2008. The mine produced 1.1 million ounces of silver.
Silver Standard Resources reported a further increase in silver and base metal resources at the Pitarrilla project in Durango State, Mexico. The increase stems from a review of the resource model, as part of the reserve estimation for the pre-feasibility study currently underway for Pitarrilla, which determined that the silver-equivalent cutoff may have understated silver and base metal resources.
