Latest Information
April 6, 2005
The uranium potential of the property was recognized. A recent airborne electromagnetic survey over the property revealed a weak to moderate conductive response about 1.3 km long, associated with the Cu-Ni-PGE mineralization and located along the base of the gabbro. Numerous other conductive targets were also outlined. The Company plans a program of geophysical surveying, geochemical sampling and stripping to evaluate the potential. In 2001, 2 discrete zones of sulphide mineralization in the gabbro with a minimum potential strike length of about 200 m was discovered. Sampling gave values of up to 4.3 g Pt+Pd+Au/t, 10,096 ppm Cu and 624 ppm Ni. Two additional mineralized showings along the gabbro volcanic contact were located. One returned values of 11,633 ppm Co, >10,000 ppm As and 137.8 ppm Cd from felsic volcanics and the other gave values of 3,034 ppb Au, 8,883 ppm Cu, and 13.8 ppm Ag from an area of quartz veining. During 2000 prospectors undertook a sampling program on an old Cu-Ni showing in gabbro that returned values of up to 3,489 ppb Pt+Pd, 8,641 ppm Cu and 778 pm Ni. A zone of Cu – Ni sulphide mineralization (approximately 5 m thick) was traced on surface for a distance of over 60 metres before disappearing under overburden. The showing had originally been pitted and drilled by Teck exploration in 1952 and one hole intersected disseminated sulphide mineralization over its entire length of 94.4 feet (28.7 metres). During the 1980’s Falconbridge Ltd drilled a hole on the property to test for base metal mineralization and they intersected a 1.36 metre interval in iron formation that assayed 2.06 g/t Au. This intersection was never followed up.
