Bass Metals reported that Ministerial consent has been granted for the transfer of the Hellyer Mine lease from Intec Ltd to Bass Metals’ subsidiary, Hellyer Mill Operations Pty Ltd. The property is located in northwest Tasmania. Extension of the Mining Lease is pending submission of the Hellyer Mine Project development and environmental management plan, which is scheduled to occur in July, 2009. The company also reports that the Hellyer Tails Mineral Resource has been updated to 9.5 million tonnes @ 2.8% Pb, 2.5% Zn, 0.2% Cu, 104 g/t Ag and 2.6 g/t Au. Contained metals comprise of 290 kt lead, 20 kt copper, 32 Moz silver and 0.8Moz gold.

Bass Metals Ltd reports on exploration for the final nine diamond drill holes drilled to test shallow extensions of the high grade PQ Lens north of the existing limit of the planned PQ pit at Que River mine in northwest Tasmania, Australia. Drilling beneath the northern end of the PQ pit at Que River has yielded further high grade gold, silver and base metal assay results including: 6.6 metres 4.0 g/t gold, 465 g/t silver, 24.2 % zinc, 11.6 % lead and 0.7 % copper (QRD1302) and 7.9 metres at 5.1 g/t gold, 250 g/t silver, 18.8 % zinc, 10.3 % lead, and 0.5 % copper (QRD1303). Bass Metals also reports that negotiations have concluded with OZ Minerals Ltd on its 2009 Ore Payment factors for remaining contracted ore deliveries from the Que River mine. This has resulted in reductions to the payment factors for lead, zinc and copper, with gold and silver payment factors remaining unchanged.
