October 26, 2009 Geo Minerals and Alix Resources announced that Phase II drilling program is now underway on the Red Deer Lake Coal Property located in Manitoba, Canada. The proposed drilling program follows on the March 2009, Red Deer Lake Phase I drilling program and calls for up to 24 drill holes. These drillholes are targeted to test the Cretaceous Mannville Formation
September 3, 2009 Alix Resources and Geo Minerals announce that the companies are in the process of selecting targets and applying for Work Permits from the Manitoba Conservation Office to drill on the Red Deer Lake Project (Manitoba, Canada) adjoining Goldsource Mines “Border” Property. The companies have contracted CorePro Drilling Inc. and intend to drill immediately upon receipt of final approval by the Winnipeg Mineral Titles Branch.
April 2, 2009 Announced that the Red Deer Lake Coal property Phase I drilling program has been completed. These drill holes targeted the near surface, within 150 m (490 feet) depth, expression of the target Cretaceous Manville Formation on the Red Deer Lake Property. Two out of the four drill holes (RDL-09-01 and RD-09-03; located approximately 3.5 km apart) encountered coal bearing units at depths of approximately 67 m (220 ft) and 87 m (288 ft) depths. Hole RDL-09-02 was abandoned above the target depth due to drilling problems and hole RDL-09-04 (located 2.5 km from RDL-09-03) did not reach the target horizon within its permitted 150 m (492 foot) depth.
