|
Property NewsOctober 5, 2009 Coeur d’Alene Mines announced that it is pursuing an expansion of mining operations at its Rochester silver and gold mine in Nevada, USA. This planned expansion is expected to add an average of 2.9 million ounces of incremental annual silver production and 30,000 ounces of further gold production through 2017.
September 30, 2008 Reported to have produced 795,351 ounces of silver and 4,983 ounces of gold. In addition the mine life had been extended by three years from 2011 to 2014. Total cash costs per ounce decreased to ($0.46) from $2.72 in the nine months ended September 30, 2008. The decrease in cash costs per ounce is primarily due to (i) only processing costs are being incurred now that mining activities have ceased; and (ii) higher by-product credits from higher gold prices in 2008 as compared to the same period in 2007. June 30, 2008 Reported silver production was 898,837 ounces and gold production was 6,062 ounces during the second quarter of 2008 compared to 1,227,233 ounces of silver and 14,146 ounces of gold in the second quarter of 2007.
