About 3,000 wildcat miners are believed to have invaded the Roosevelt Indian Reservation.Federal authorities launched a massive operation aimed at removing thousands of diamond prospectors from an Indian reservation deep in the Amazon rainforest. In the first two days of the operation, authorities detained about 1,300
prospectors and confiscated some tractors and other vehicles.
