Evolving Gold announced assay results from its Carlin gold project, Nevada, USA. Drill hole CAR-007 intersected six zones of gold mineralization including 31.0 g/t gold over 4.6 meters, 44.6 g/t gold over 3.0 meters. Gold grades appear to improve to the west, where the mineralization is intersected at shallower depths. Depth to gold mineralization in drill hole CAR-007 is similar to depths at a number of underground gold mines on the Carlin trend and elsewhere in NV.
September 10, 2009
Evolving Gold reported that assay results have confirmed the presence of gold at its Carlin, Nevada property. The more significant gold intersections include 35.1m at 1.21g/t gold, and 22.8m at 1.11g/t gold in Hole CAR-002. The highest gold value was a 1.5m interval with a grade of 11.9g/t gold. The property is located on the Carlin Gold Trend, 11.5 kilometers northwest of the Rain deposit and 12.5 kilometers southeast of the Gold Quarry deposit. As previously reported, drill hole CAR-002 intersected altered and mineralized rock units, interpreted as highly favorable Lower Plate formations (Webb, Rodeo Creek, and Popovich). Visible iron, arsenic and antimony sulfides were also reported. The drill hole was terminated at 1,519m in breccia with dark gray to black carbon and pyrite veinlets. Assays are still pending for the bottom 70.1m of the drill hole. The Carlin property is one of four properties that are included in an agreement with subsidiary companies of Newmont Mining Corporation.
December 12, 2008
Reported to have completed the 2008 drill program where drill hole encountered 235m of anomalous mineralization averaging 0.23g/t Au from 216m depth to the bottom of the hole at 451m, with individual 1.6m intervals ranging up to 1.56g/t Au. A subsequent core drill hole reported intermittent highly anomalous gold values ranging from 0.1g/t to a high value of 4.8g/t. Significant intervals include 4m grading 1.69g/t Au from 347-351m including a 2m interval of 3.12g/t gold from 348-350m. Highly anomalous pathfinder elements including arsenic, antimony, mercury and thallium accompany anomalous gold values. A 1m interval at 338m depth returned 196g/t Ag.
