The company foresee to increase the production from 100,000 tpm to 150,000 tpm, and later to reach 200,000 tpm, by the construction of new crushing plant which will replace two crushers in operations, in addition a new SX-EW leaching plant with a capacity of 7,000 tonnes of cathodes per year.

The company submitted and EIA which involves the increasing in production to reach 100,000 t/m. The mine was in operations since 1994 and consists in the exploitation and processing of copper mineral resources by means of Sub Level Stoping as mining method, dynamic heap leaching, and solvent extraction (SE) and electrowinning (EW). The processed material is shipped by pipes to Minera Mantos Blancos´s plant and another part is processed on the company’s Pilot plant which uses the SE/EW technology. The useful mine life was estimated in 20 years.
