Property NewsMay 12, 2011 Dragon Mining announced that results have been received from a shallow reconnaissance drilling program undertaken over the Sjöliden target on the Harpsund Joint Venture area in Sweden. December 31, 2005 Work on the Ekorrtrask Licence included 489 detailed till samples, returning maximum gold values of 120 ppb gold. December 31, 2005 Work on the Bysstrask Licence included 2,226 detailed till samples, returning maximum gold values of 645 ppb gold.
At Klippen, Assay results have reported a grade of 9.78 g/t over an intersection of 1.0 metre at a depth of 7.0 to 8.0 metres from surface within a zone of mineralisation previously outlined by trenching. These areas have previously been defi ned by limited drilling and trenching which had intersected broad mineralised zones of 20 metres at 2.4 g/t average grade in a surface trench. Trenching and drilling has further revealed 24.1 metres at an average grade of 1.72 g/t which included an intersection of 5.7 metres at 3.3 g/t and 1.0m at 7.8 g/t extending within two zones also within a surface trench. Klippen has a strike length of the two zones of over 450 metres with trench sampling also reporting an intersection with an average grade of copper mineralisation of greater
than 1.0% copper over 8.0 metres.
At Akerland Nr I, located to the south west of the Gold Line in northern Sweden, mining between 1920 and 1922 extracted 10,000 tonnes of ore were extracted by hand during this period with an average grade of 17.3 % zinc,
15 g/t silver and 0.5 g/t gold. The vertical extent of the old workings is limited to approximately 15 metres.
The Forsthuvudberget and Lilliän Norra areas are located within the Boden area of Northern Sweden, approximately 150 kilometres north of the Skelleftea base metal mining district. The Forsthuvudberget concession (610 hectares) is dominated by a sequence of mafic to intermediate volcanics in contact with a felsic intrusive. Bedrock grab samples taken from the contact zone returned maximum values of 6.7 g/t gold and 1.47% copper. A total of ten samples were collected and all displayed anomalous gold values. The Lilliän Norra concession (1062 hectares) is characterised by a similar geological setting toForsthuvudberget. Preliminary work in the 1970’s
culminated in the drilling of two diamond holes. The area is dominated by extensive till cover, however fi rst pass sampling by Ovoca has returned gold values of 1.26 g/t.
