Property NewsDecember 31, 2010 CODELCO released its Annual report. December 31, 2009 During the year the feasibility study was completed for the San Antonio project; it involves mining the oxides remaining from the Old Potrerillos Mine (8 km southwest of the Poterillos), and it will undergo acid leaching, solvent extraction and electrowinning. It is expected to produce 30,000 tons of fine copper per year during a period of 24 years. The project requires a US$ 230 million investment and the first cathodes should be produced at the beginning of 2014. The feasibility study for the project is targeted to start during the first quarter of 2010. December 31, 2008 During 2008, Codelco continued with the development of the project for improving the standards on the Poterillos Furnance. A the end of 2008, the prefeasibility study for the San Antonio project was approved, which considers the exploitation of remaining minerals of the former Potrerillos mine.
