Lateral development and construction of the individual mining levels were completed in early 2005 and production from this project reached 4,460 tonnes per day in 2005. The planned production level is scheduled to be 4,355 tonnes per day in 2006, with production from this project expected to continue until 2014.
In 2000, a decision was made to proceed with the development of the low-grade area of Stobie Mine. The development and construction for the ore-handling component of this project was completed in the third quarter of 2001. Production began in 2001 and is expected to increase to 6,700 tonnes per day in 2002 and continue at that rate through the end of 2005.
In 1999, plans were to continue production through 2001.
