For the quarter ended reported that work done on the Kuusilampi deposit results in a significant increase in mineral resources with the measured and indicated mineral resources increasing by 42% to 642 million tonnes, while the total mineral resources grew by 76% to 1,004 million tonnes.

The first nickel and zinc sulphides were produced. The start-up of metals production followed the commencement of mining operations in April and materials handling and bio-heap leaching processes in July this year. While the production volumes during the rest of 2008 will still remain low as per plan, the main target over the coming months will be to optimize the various processes for commercially significant production from the beginning of 2009 and beyond.
