Latest Information
November 12, 2012
Olympus Pacific Minerals Inc. announced new reserve and/or resource estimates for BONG MIEU, Vietnam.
September 30, 2008
Grid geochemical in-fill soil survey was completed and the gold-arsenic anomalies were conclusively closed off to the south. Work to date has recorded nine quartz veins of potentially economic grade and width and having a cumulative strike-length of 34 km. Of all Nui Bac Ma rock samples collected to date, 45% have assayed above 1 g/t Au. Detailed geological mapping of individual veins was commenced, but has since been suspended due to early onset of the wet season. In Vinh Binh Sector, preliminary geological mapping and sampling commenced delineating individual quartz vein structures within the 15 km long structural corridor that strikes northerly from Nui Bac Ma sector to and beyond Hon Lap Mine. The veins dip consistently 60-700 easterly and locally exceed 15 metres true width. Rock assay results to date (peak value 24.7 g/t Au) indicate that at least one of these veins is significantly gold-mineralized. A hydrothermally altered and silicified rhyolite complex that forms a conical hill on the eastern side of the structural corridor is visibly (pyrite-molybdenite) mineralized and is possibly coextensive with the molybdenum anomalous Tien Long dacitic intrusive. Assays remain pending.
June 30, 2008
1:2,500 scale geological mapping and 100m x 25m grid geochemical surveys continued to delineate additional auriferous quartz veins of potentially economic width and gold grade. Environmental surveys continued to provide base-line data intended for a Preliminary Environmental Statement, which will be required in support of a Mining License Application. At Tien Thuan, rock chip sampling of mostly weathered and leached outcrops have revealed surface metal assay values ranging up to 30.50 g/t Au, 100 g/t Ag, 1.33% Cu, 11.10% Pb, 7.23% Zn and 0.14% Mo.
