Latest Information November 30, 1999 Petrography and mineralogy confirmed the presence of diamond indicator minerals on two of the six kimberlite dykes. October 31, 1998 Exploration began. Exploration in 1996 and 1997 included prospecting and grab and chip sampling and an airborne MAG and EM geophysical survey. A new zone of disseminated bornite and chalcocite ("OBD Zone") was discovered during this work near Adit number 2. In 1995, prospecting, geochemical sampling and VLF-EM and MAG surveys were carried out in the northeastern part of the property covering Adit number 1. A southeast extension 120 m from Adit number 1 was discovered with grab samples of up to 1.32% Cu and 59.31 g/t Ag. A 1 m wide chip sample over Adit number 1 assayed 13.7% Cu and 360.0 g/t Ag. In the mid 19th century there was minor (31 tons) production of copper ore from a shaft-adit system (Adit number 1) at the NE end of the property and an adit (Adit number 2) 3.5 km SSW of Adit number 1. September 30, 1998 Six of eight previously mapped dykes were sampled. The dykes were thought to be lamprophyre dykes. |
