On Apr06/11, Compania de Minas Buenaventura announced that a labor paralyzation started on Uchucchacua mining unit affecting production. The strike has been promoted by workers of contractors and is related to labor aspects, but mainly linked to interests of Oyon comunity. The strike was declared illegal by authorities.

Buenanvuentura announced that with the objective to remove manganese content on concentrate, the company has planned to build a treatment plant at Rio Seco stream, approximately 150 km north of Lima.
