May 15, 2009 During the quarter, an internal scoping level underground plan was completed for the Jackpine Block which lies east of the Heritage and Centre Blocks that have been planned for contour mining in conjunction with highwall mining. The plan outlines 18 million tonnes of recoverable run-of-mine coal supporting a 13-year mine plan at a production level of 1.4 million tonnes per year. On this block the seam is flat-lying (less than 5 %), has a consistent seam thickness ranging from 1.6 to 1.8 m, and geological work to date shows no structural features that would negatively impact mining operations.
