Polaris Metals N.L is pleased to announce that the Caliwinga tenement, E77/1558, covering 50 square kilometres was granted this week. The tenement is the western one of two that comprise Polaris’ 100% owned Weelumurra Project covering 170 square kilometres in the Pilbara region, Western Australia. The project is located adjacent to several billion tonnes of iron ore deposits owned by other companies with the Weelumurra tenement immediately along strike of FMG’s Solomon resource. Field reconnaissance of the Caliwinga tenement is planned to commence in the coming week leading to drill targeting. Subject to approvals, it is intended to commence drilling at Caliwinga later in 2009.

Reported that an independent Landsat imagery interpretation study was commissioned and reported a CID target potential of 200–250 Mt with additional Canga iron target potential of 50–60Mt on both prospects. These are based on interpreted volume estimates, and no reliable grade estimates are as yet available. On the Caliwinga Creek tenement (50 sq km), Polaris geologists located a CID visually estimated to be up to 25 m thick. An interpretation of the geomorphology of the area indicates the CID extends for at least 5 km. Two grab samples were collected and assayed up to 58.8% Fe. (Mar14/08)
