Welbeck will continue to mine its remaining resources until these are exhausted at the end of 2009.

Production of 0.4m tonnes was slightly disappointing and below the first half of 2007 (0.6m tonnes). This was a result of a delay in the start date for the new face in the aftermath of the previously reported fatality at the mine last year.
