Latest Information September 30, 2007 The West Arm project contains five significant, untested, geophysical anomalies believed to be sourced within Proterozoic rocks of the Great Bear Magmatic Zone. These rocks are covered by often extensive thicknesses of Paleozoic sedimentary rocks. June 30, 2004 Thirteen of the fourteen geophysical anomalies were evaluated by detailed, ground based, total field magnetic and gravity geophysical surveys. Four diamond drill holes, totaling 1,112 m, then tested four separate geophysical targets. All targets were gravity highs (1.9 2.4 milliGals), with a coincident positive magnetic response (175 to 520 nT). One drill hole was terminated in Paleozoic cover rock; two drill holes cut magnetic diabase dykes or sills, with the fourth drill hole intersecting disseminated magnetite within monzonite. An additional 1,500 m of drilling has been proposed, to test an additional five targets. All targets are positive gravity anomalies (1.3 2.7 milliGals) and positive magnetic anomalies (250 700 nT). |
