Denison Mines announced a 7,500 metre, 15 hole drill program on the Wheeler River Property in the Athabasca Bain of northern Saskatchewan to further define the high-grade Phoenix discovery made in 2009. The Wheeler River project is a joint venture among Denison, who is the operator and holds a 60% interest, Cameco Corp. (30% interest) and JCU (Canada) Exploration Company, Limited (10% interest).
Denison Mines announced drill results at the Wheeler River property in the Athabasca Basin in northern Saskatchewan, Canada. Hole WR-273 drilled on the Phoenix East discovery intersected 55% eU3O8 over 6.0 meters.
Denison reports that assays returned for the equivalent grade results announced on April 2, 2009 for holes at Wheeler River confirm and exceed most equivalent down-hole probing results. For example, Hole WR-267 previously reported equivalent grades of 15.5% eU3O8 over 2.9 m from 408.2 m. Split core assay grades from the same interval were 23.3% U3O8 over 3.0 m from 405.0 m. A 5500m diamond drilling and 55 line-kilometres of DC Resistivity survey is to begin in early June, 2009.
