Engineering firm Monadelphous Group Ltd has secured a $140 million service provision contract related to the $2.5 billion expansion of the BHP Billiton Ltd-operated Worsley alumina operation in Western Australia, reports Australian Associated Press.

The Worsley Development Capital Project is mechanically complete with commissioning in progress and additional production ramping up. The cost to completion is currently being finalised, however is expected to be close to budget.

48% of the Worsley Development Capital Projects were completed, a project that will increase the alumina capacity by 250,000 tonnes per year, to a capacity of 3.5 million tonnes per year.
