Latest Information March 31, 2002 A diamond was discovered during exploration for rare earth potential. Sampling of a kimberlitic diatreme dike (32 kg surface sample), the kimberlitic sample was submitted for caustic fusion processing and microdiamond recovery in accordance with registered methods and standard laboratory operating procedures. This process resulted in the recovery of one cuboid microdiamond fragment collected on a 0.2 mm screen with dimensions of 0.38 by 0.30 by 0.25 mm. Considering the small size of the sample and the extensive nature of the kimberlitic diatreme host rocks, a diamond exploration program at Xeno is warranted. March 13, 2002 Pacific Ridge Exploration has discovered a diamond while exploring for rare earth metals on the Xeno property in the Ketchika River area of northern B.C. A 32 kg surface sample of a kimberlitic diatreme dike that is intermittently exposed over 2.5 km and reaches widths of up to 50 m, resulted in the recovery of one cuboid microdiamond fragment with dimensions of 0.38 by 0.30 by 0.25 mm. The company is planning diamond exploration on the property upon considering the small size of the sample and the extensive nature of the kimberlitic diatreme host rocks. A major mining company agreed to conduct the microdiamond testing in consideration for a first right to participate in continuing exploration on the property. Pacific Ridge has the right to earn a 100% interest in the property subject to a 2% NSR payable to the underlying vendor. |
