American Tire Corporation (ATC) has finalized development plans for its Washington radial tire manufacturing facility.
This move will expand its U.S. operations and provide an aggressive growth strategy in the OTR tire business. The new Washington facility will consist of: seven (7) manufacturing plants, two warehouses, one multi-function distribution center, and one research and training building. It will occupy 130 acres.
ATC will build the most advanced tire-building and vulcanizing machines onsite. Meanwhile, all related equipment, construction, and raw materials are to be procured by way of international competitive bidding in the first half of 2008. Any tire qualified equipment manufacturers, raw material manufacturers and construction companies are encouraged to make offers from February 1 through March 31, 2008.

With a total investment of US$500,000,000 by the end of 2009, this new Washington facility will reach its full capacity of 50,000 giant radial OTR tires, which includes 24,000 units of all sizes of 63” tires, per year.
