Established in October 1989 Downhole Surveys (DHS) is a dynamic Australian based company utilising the latest technology in drill hole deviation instruments and provides a unique and essential service to the mineral exploration, mining and drilling industry.
Over the years we have carried out downhole survey work in Ghana, Indonesio, Peru, the Philippines, Tanzania, South Africa, Indonesia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates and more. Although most of our business is in the mining industry we have carried out some very important survey work on civil engineering sites such as the Deep Sewage Tunnel Project in Singapore. This project involved surveying 40m long slightly inclined near horizontal freeze grout holes. The freeze grout hole position relative to one another was critical for this project hence the need for precision downhole surveying. Our DHS Target Rate Gyro was selected for this project.

The new SMART instrument from FLEXIT - GyroSmart™ Directional surveying inside drill rods!
A Memory Gyro that’s more than just a gyro. GyroSmart™ a complete downhole surveying package capable of surveying in all environments, magnetic and non magnetic, providing its own internal quality checks.
Uses
Directional survey inside the following drill rods:
- Reverse circulation
- Conventional diamond core drilling
- Wireline drilling
- Raise bore

- Steered coredrilling
Providing directional data (azimuth and dip) at an interval of 10m from inside the drill string.
GyroSmart can also be used in open hole applications providing Azimuth data in magnetically disturbed zones by utilizing the Gyros. The magnetometers can be used to quality check the accuracy where the ground is not magnetically disturbed.

Winches
Quality industrial designed wireline winches. Using the latest technology in high power, robust, yet very compact hydraulic drives, DHS now supply a range of Geophysical wireline logging winches.
Available for rental or purchase in a range of sizes to meet any need. From a 500m portable winch available in hand crank or 12 volt motor driven to a heavy duty 3000m vehicle mounted hydraulic system.
All winches come with depth encoders, both mechanical and optical, and have a robust and reliable level wind system. The best Mercotac Mercury Slip rings are incorporated for both the single conductor and 4 conductor cable models.
Models available for 500m, 750m, 1000m, 2000m, 3000m and custom made winches.
