Northwest Mining Association (NWMA) is a 105 year old, 2,500 member non-profit, non-partisan trade association founded
in Spokane, Washington during the early years of the Coeur d’Alene Mining District.
NWMA's purpose is to represent and inform members on, legislative, regulatory and technical issues, to support and
advance the mineral resource and related industries, to provide for the dissemination of educational materials related
to mining, and to foster and promote economic opportunity and environmentally responsible mining.
The NWMA's mission is to support and advance the mineral resource and related industries
by stimulating scientific research, supporting mineral programs of academic institutions, encouraging the exploration
for and development of mineral deposits, providing for the dissemination of technological, governmental and educational
information relating to mining, and fostering and promoting legislation that ensures strong and responsible mineral
industries.
