Pipeline Systems Incorporated (PSI) provides a full range of pipeline engineering services, including project evaluation, engineering and project management. Since 1979, PSI personnel have participated in the engineering of the majority of all long-distance slurry transportation systems installed worldwide. In fact, several key personnel at PSI were also part of the pioneering group that first developed slurry pipeline technology. We have designed pipelines for the transport of various mineral concentrates (copper, zinc, lead, iron), crushed ore, bauxite, nickel laterite, phosphate, potash, limestone, oil sands, and coal. We also help manage mining waste and provide systems for water supply, return, and distribution.

INTELLIGENT PIPELINE SCADA

PSI’s Control Systems group are experts at supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA) that provide you with the necessary control and intelligence to effectively operate every aspect of your slurry or tailings pipeline. PSI provides a complete package for design, engineering, programming, commissioning and operations to efficiently get your pipeline into service and keep it operating.

VITAL INFORMATION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS

We also specialize in the design and provision of critical telecommunications backbones utilizing the latest technology. In addition to being the data backbone for SCADA, it is also utilized for:

• Voice communications, including mobile solutions (critical for safe pipeline operations)
• Data transmission for administration and operations teams
• Video surveillance for security and operations
• Secure connection of the pipeline network to the larger public network and Internet

We have designed and provided systems based on fiber optics, radio (various frequencies) and satellite, and hybrids of all three.

POWER WHEN YOU NEED IT

We design and provide complete remote SCADA and power enclosures to power and operate the pipeline instrumentation, equipment, cathodic protection, and communications. We have provided a host of backup power solutions, including solar and thermoelectric generators. All systems are designed and assembled to UL and CE standards.
