Spectral International Inc., uses ASD (Analytical Spectral Devices) based field infrared reflectance
spectroscopy and hyperspectral satellite and airborne imaging technology for mineral and petroleum resource
exploration. In addition, spectral environmental management and characterization of Acid Rock Drainage (ARD) and Acid
Mine Drainage (AMD) are supported with NASA funding.
SII also offers spectral analytical services in North America, Peru, Chile, and South Africa.

The ASD FieldSpec Pro is a portable,
visible-shortwave infrared (SWIR) spectrometer that brings the analytical capabilities of laboratory spectroscopy to
the outcrop for the identification and mapping of mineral and vegetation species. This technology is routinely used in
precious metals exploration. Through the NASA projects, it is also being introduced into field evaluation protocols
for environmental application. SII provides sales, training, software and technical support for the ASD line of
instruments.
Spectral International Inc is partnered with ASTERImages Inc. in providing access to ASTER (Advanced
Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) images.
ASTERImages Inc. provides low cost ASTER imagery and alteration maps to
those who work in the earth sciences and precious metals exploration fields. These image maps can be used with GIS or
image processing software. A GIS indexed data archive with over 300,000 images has been compiled and is available
through ASTERImages Inc. and Spectral
International Inc.
