    Phelps Dodge Announced its Board of Directors has Approved the Restart of the Company's Climax Molybdenum Mine Near Leadville,Colorado,USA,Contingent Upon Completion of a Final Feasibility Study and Obtaining all Required Operating Permits and Regulatory Approvals. a Recently Completed PRE-Feasibility Study Indicated the Open-PIT Mine,Last Operated in19 95, Could Produce 20Million to 30Million Pounds of Molybdenum Annually Contained in High-Quality Concentrates at Highly Competitive PER-Pound Production Costs. Capital Requirements are Estimated at$200 Million to $250Million for a New State-of-the-ART Concentrator and Associated Facilities. Assuming Favorable Market Conditions and Timely Receipt of Permits,Phelps Dodge Intends to Have the Mine in Production by the END of 2009.
