| Description: | On the trip back to the base of PT Weda Bay Nickel after our two days in the Aketajawe-Lolobata National Park, we flew over the operating nickel mine at Tanjung Buli which seemed not to have physical structures in place to guard against erosion. We saw what seemed to be notable heavy sedimentation in the coastal zone, muddy gullies marking the slopes below the mine site, as well as oil discharges just offshore. |
