Tuesday, April 19, 2005 BARRICK GOLD CORPORATION and XSTRATA PLC Metal producer Falconbridge will pay Barrick Gold USD15 million for a 50% stake in a nickel project in Tanzania, the company said Tuesday. Falconbridge also said it will fund a CAD50 million work plan to update the site over the next few years, including exploration and drilling. Once a work plan is completed, Falconbridge plans to cover up to CAD95 million in any further development costs to advance the project in northwestern Tanzania. (Complete Text - News Release) PDF
