Wednesday, February 22, 2006 LIHIR GOLD LTD Gold miner Lihir Gold Ltd says it will produce more than 800,000 ounces of gold a year from 2007, as it moves on from the operational difficulties of last year. The Papua New Guinea-focussed miner today also reiterated its production target for 2006 of a record 670,000 ounces, reports the Australian Associated Press. The target was revised downwards by 30,000 ounces in January after the company assessed the impact of a landslide last year.
