CANADIAN OIL SANDS TRUST
Canadian Oil Sands Trust has pushed back the deadline of its friendly takeover offer for Canada Southern Petroleum Ltd. to midnight Aug. 18 to give it more time to gather the shareholder support it needs for the bid to succeed. The Calgary-based trust had originally set an Aug. 1 deadline for $13.10 US per share bid. As of Monday, about 5.2 million shares or 35 per cent of Canada Southern stock had been tendered to the bid, which requires that two-thirds be tendered.
