Global Health Insurance Plans

BWhen you are sending your employees overseas, the last thing you want to do is invest in a plan that doesn't pay when you want it to or is difficult to administer.
Some companies operating offshore use a local insurance company, but this is fraught with inconvenience and danger. Some countries, supervisory bodies or cartel arrangements strictly regulate insurance firms. Even more countries have blocked currencies or significant foreign exchange regulations.
It is often a great idea to consolidate international insurance polices with one offshore benefit provider that will provide solid, portable and continuous protection. This helps streamline risk management, cut administration and communication costs plus decreased costs.
Most international group insurance plans have an element of Life, AD&D of course International Health Insurance and evacuation. Some employers add Long Term Disability and dental. If you are operating a mine in a dangerous or unstable country, make sure the insurance plans cover passive war, riot and terrorism.
On the international health insurance, make sure the plan covers your expats for medical treatment in the USA and Canada, especially if they are from the USA or Canada. Some plans do not cover maternity, so make sure you check the policy.
