Africamin Mining Company Limited is a small scale gold mining project located at Mawechikrom village in the Enchi District of Western Region of Ghana. The Africanmin Mining Company concession covers an area of 100 acres and includes the Sewum-Tokosea Small Scale Mining Lease (SCML) where they operate a gold mining operation using a Gold cyanidation process.
Africamin’s management plans to expand operations and upgrade facilities to improve from a small scale mining operations to a medium scale mining operation. Although a full feasibility study has not been completed, Africamin is considered a highly probable gold reserve because:
• The Africamin Mining Company lies within the Bibiani Shear Zone, a major gold prospective. The Bibiani Shear Zone hosts major proven gold reserves including the Bibiani gold deposit (+5Moz) and Red Back's Chirano deposit (2.35Moz).
• Small scale underground mining occurred on the Sewum-Tokosea concession in the 1950’s with historical records to suggest that the mine had reserves with grades between 15g/t and 46g/t.
• There were a series of successful galamsey (local gold mining groups) surface activities at the Africamin site from 1993-1995 prior to site demarcated for small scale mining operations.
• Soil geochemistry, mapping, and trenching were conducted during the period 1987-1988 by Canadian Magnesite Mines Limited that indicated widespread gold anomalies greaten than 100 ppb and over 1000 ppb in soils on the Sewum-Tokosea concession.
• A 2837 soil sample analysis conducted by Mutual Resources from 1994 to 1995 indicated a high grade vein of the Sewum-Tokosea concession of about 15g/t over length of 100 m.
Africamin is seeking expansion funding for their operations of the Sewum-Tokosea concession under the Sewum-Tokosea SCML. Africamin is interested in soliciting bids for co-development options for the concession.
