MANGANESE PROJECT
The area is in Jacobina City, 330 Km from Salvador (Bahia’s Capital)
The MANGANESE vein extends for 1.9Km by 150m in width. The manganese ore is visible in several places:
- Through a Pit of 160m x 40 m inside of the manganese vein.
- Some trenches along the vein.
- Through a cut on the road.
The Pit starts 100 m from a paved road and is just a few miles from Jacobina city. The area has water and electricity and the vein extends at the top of a hill (which makes the extraction easier).
3 rock samples were taken along the trench of the manganese mineralization. The samples were analyzed by SGS-Geosol based in Belo Horisonte by whole rock XRF. The concentration of manganese along the trenches were 45,6% Mn, 48,6% Mn and 49.3% Mn.
The geological researches show (in a conservative way) a reserve of 6 million MT of manganese ore of high quality . This number can increase significantly as a drilling work is done through the area.
Logistics: Transport by trucks for 330 km to the ports in Salvador. There is also a possibility to transport the manganese until the city of Senhor do Bonfin (about 110 km away) and by railroad to the ports + 380 km.
The leasing is being offered for a period of 15 years, extendable for another 15 years or for as long as there is manganese left.
