Exploration Status:

The Cracker property consists of 52 claims located ca. 17 km NW of Gander. Access is provided by the abandoned provincial rail bed and by woods roads that connect with the Trans Canada Highway W of Gander.

Regional Geology:
The region is located in the NE edge of the Exploits Subzone (Dunnage Zone) and is underlain principally by the Early to Late Ordovician Davidsville Group.

Local Geology and Minearlization: The property is underlain by steeply dipping, marine sandstone, siltstone and minor limestone of the Hunts Cove and Outflow formations (Davidsville Group). Gabrroic intrusions occur locally in some of the lithologies.

Gold has been, and continues to be the focus of much of the exploration activity in the area since the 1980's. Previous exploration in this property returned grab samples with assays up to 33.87 g/t Au.

The Cracker Prospect as revealed by trenching to date, is 2 m wide with a strike length of 10 m. The host rock is a grey, gossanous and partly silicified rock with diorite or andesite protolith. The mineralized zone contains up to 60% pyrite with minor chalcopyrite and appears to cross-cut the enclosing shale. Five grab samples from two trenches at the Cracker Prospect returned assays ranging from 1.8 g/t to 61/7 g/t Au. Assays for grab and channel samples taken from a second set of trenches ranged up to 1.9 g/t Au.

Drilling has been carried out at the Cracker Prospect and indicates that the mineralization continues at depth but with less significant gold grades. Detailed geophysics and soil surveys indicated several targets, but some of these have not been investigated and warrant closer attention through trenching and drilling.
