Geology:
Pegmatitic granitiod plug or sheet (about 1.3 km x 2.5 km) intrudes gneisses and schists (Monashee Group) and quartz diorite.

Mineralization:
The pegmatite is dominantly white feldspar (plagioclase + K-spar), grey quartz, some biotite and muscovite, accessory garnet and rare tourmaline. Quartz is an interstitial phase, or in graphic intergrowths. Biotite is generally more common than muscovite, micas are about 5% of total rock volume. Pegmatite is apparently zoned with respect to feldspar and quartz rich zones, and also possibly K-feldspar and Na-Ca feldspar rich zones. Surface oxidation not extensive. Whole rock analyses are typically very similar to the Spruce Pine deposit in North Carolina.

Work:
1988: 15 ddh (vertical & 61 m long) tested extent of pegmatite in proposed mining area (about 250m x 200m). Other work included mapping, blast pit and chip sampling, whole rock analyses, and initial bench scale testing (benefication of feldspar, quartz and mica concentrates through grinding, flotation and magnetic separation).

Results:
Drilling outlined 7.8 Mt of 90% pegmatite in core. Pegmatite is typically 70% feldspar, 25% quartz, 5% micas. Results of testing generally positive and production of salable feldspar, quartz and mica concentrates can be produced economically from the deposit. The pegmatite ore yielded an average of 45% feldspar concentrate, 20% quartz concentrate, 8% mica concentrate and 27% "waste rock"
7.8 million tonnes @ 90% pegmatite cut-off delineated in area drilled (about 250m x 200m). Potential for much larger tonnage (100 Mt plus).
