Antamina, PUCP and EduMine collaborate on the development of mining courses in Spanish

The Antamina Mine is located in the Andes Mountains in north-central Peru. The deposit is one of the largest copper-zinc ore bodies in the world. Antamina employs 1,400 people directly and 3,500 indirectly. Antamina has a site enrollment with EduMine to provide access to online courses and certification for its employees.

In a drive to increase the availability of mining technology to its personnel, and to the mining community in Peru, Antamina is sponsoring the translation of EduMine courses into Spanish. The translations are performed by the mining department of PUCP (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú) in Lima.

Eight online courses, including topics in geotechnical engineering, reserves reporting and mineral processing, will be translated in the first phase. This project will significantly increase the availability of online learning and certification for Antamina personnel and the Spanish-speaking mining community.
