Bralorne Gold Mines will go ahead with the last phase of its three-phase exploration program at the historic and very successful Bralorne, King and Pioneer gold mines of southwest British Columbia in early October.
The goal of this next step, says President Will Kocken, is to verify the grade and size of a previously unknown high grade mineralization found near the recently restored Alhambra drift, before the company makes a decision to increase the mill operations from 120 tpd to 280 tpd.
In early October two shifts will start working day and night to cross cut the structure and delineate resources. This resource should provide sufficient feed to begin operations at more than double the current mine's processing rate.
Phase two of the exploration program, outlined by Beacon Hill Consultants in 2006, included significant surface and underground drilling. Present work is focused on the King Vein area, where drilling in 2006 intersected a "Bonanza" hole grading 11.78 oz/ton Au over 1.1 feet and 7.20 oz/ton Au over 1.2 feet.
According to Kocken, the results of Phase two were better than expected. "We planned to drill 12 holes, but we kept drilling East and West as far as we could reach from the drill station that was set up from the King Vein area where we have drilled 42 holes so far. Now we are in the process of completing Phase 3 of the exploration program," he says.
Since acquiring the project from Avino Silver & Gold Mines in 1995, Bralorne Gold Mines has expanded their holdings, completely re-furbished the facility, obtained all permitting and brought it back to operation
Bralorne Gold Mines Vice President, Finance and Director, David Wolfin, explains that significant areas of all three mines remain unexplored or under-explored. "Considerable high-grade ore remained when the operation shut down due to low gold prices. Our work is focused on exploring both new and developed ground to expand resources," Wolfin says.
Together, Bralorne, King and Pioneer mines represent the largest historic gold producer in the Canadian Cordillera.
Funding
Bralorne Gold Mines raised C$5.4 million in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2006, providing sufficient funds to carry out the bulk of Beacon Hill's recommendations. Currently the company is debt free and last July granted incentive stock options for the purchase of 50,000 shares at a price of $1.16 per share exercisable on or before July 23, 2012 to President Kocken.
Meet InfoMine at the Toronto Resource Investment Conference
We invite you to visit us at the upcoming Toronto Resource Investment Conference, October 21 & 22 in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Canada. We will be located in booth #342.
InfoMine will be at China Mining 2007…will you?
InfoMine will again be attending Asia’s premier mining conference and exhibition – China Mining – November 13 through 15 2007, at the International Convention Center, Beijing.
China Mining, hosted by China's Ministry of Land & Resources, is now in its 9th year, last year hosting over 2,500 participants in 200 exhibition booths from 46 countries. The event provides an important channel for communication and exchanging information among global mining enterprises, while building relationships and creating valuable networking opportunities.
Come and meet InfoMine’s President, Graham Baldwin, and Pouris Huang Shusheng, InfoMine’s China Representative, at our booth in the Media Area.

This course discusses the principles and practice of surface water management at mines.
It is intended for mining professionals responsible for the hydrologic, hydraulic, environmental, civil, and mining engineering works required to manage surface water at a mine.
This is a companion course to the recent Groundwater in Mining course by Jack Caldwell.
