A unique quarterly mining magazine, Mining.com www.Mining.com, will be launched in January 2008. It is designed specifically for people interested in how and where to find information related to mining and mineral exploration, and how to manage that information. While covering all aspects on the global mining process, Mining.com magazine will be published in two formats – online and hard copy – which will closely interact with each other. Mining.com promises wide circulation: 60,000 online copies per issue on first launching and up to 20,000 hard copies per issue by the end of 2008. For further information, please see www.Mining.com.

The internet’s first interactive mining equipment cost calculator was launched this week on CostMine. The calculator provides access to CostMine’s exhaustive compilation of capital and operating cost data for more than 3,000 equipment items commonly used for mining and milling purposes, such as trucks, shovels, loaders, hoists, and crushers. Previously available in hardcopy only, this data, updated annually, has been relied upon for many years by the global mining industry to estimate costs for mining projects of all types, large and small. Using the calculator, you will be able to point and click to build your own equipment fleet, tabulate its costs, adjust those costs for local economics and conditions, and carry the data into your own spreadsheet for further analysis. more »
