world location

The 3,710 ha mining concessions making up the gold project are located in the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico. The area is approximately 7 km south of the sub-delegation known as Valle Perdido and approximately 55km south of the city of La Paz.
The access road from Highway 1 to the site is approximately 17km. The closest communities to the site are the small towns of El Rosario and Valle Perdido.
Life of mine gold production is estimated at 1.203 million oz per annum over 9.5 years, with life-of-mine cash operating costs of $419 per ounce produced.
Paredones Amarillos has been planned as an open pit truck and loader operation. This is the best mining method for the deposit due to the shallow overburden and the relatively low grades.
Trucks and loaders allow for reasonably good selectivity and cost benefits. Equipment selection includes three 11.5 m3 loaders, twelve 91 t trucks and three track mounted blasthole drills through the life of mine along with additional support and ancillary equipment.
The process plant will be designed to treat 11,000 tpd of the Paredones Amarillos ore using a primary gyratory crusher followed by a semi-autogenous grinding mill and two ball mills, whole-ore leach and carbon-in-pulp process circuits.
The tailings storage facility will have the capacity to contain 40 Mt of paste tailings. Construction of the tailings embankment will be completed primarily with waste rock derived from mine pre-stripping and waste rock removal operations.
The city of La Paz has port facilities at Pichilingue. Electrical power to the site will be supplied by construction of an 18 km line connecting to the existing 115 kW power line from La Paz.
Water requirements for the project will be supplied from the desalination plant located on the Pacific Coast, north of Todos Santos. The desalinization plant will be approximately 45 km by pipeline away from the process plant site. The fresh water will be used for process make-up, potable water needs and firewater.
Due to the available infrastructure in La Paz, no man camp will be required. Workers will be transported to and from the site on a daily basis.
